On Wednesday 30 September we brought together people from the public sector, business and the local food community at Vingtor for Sustainability Day 2026. This year’s theme was preparedness.

Every year we dedicate a day to a theme that connects with sustainability and with what we stand for as a community. This year we chose preparedness, both because it is highly relevant right now and because it is closely tied to sustainability and to the community we are trying to build here. Sustainability is part of Vingtor’s DNA, from the food we serve to the premises and furniture we have chosen, and Sustainability Day is where we bring it forward and invite others along.

The County Governor of Rogaland went first, speaking about the state’s role in preparedness work. NHO followed with the role of business in crisis and war. Certifer Solutions closed the first session with preparedness in the mobility sector, before Klimapartnere Rogaland led the Q&A and made room for what the audience wanted to ask.

After a short break it was ByAuk’s turn, with food preparedness and community building. It is a theme we think about a lot, since food is also what brings people together here every day. Handling a crisis is not only about plans and routines. It is about knowing who makes the food, who grows it, and who to call when something happens.

We believe preparedness in practice often depends on relationships built long before a crisis, and those were the relationships we wanted to give people a chance to build between the talks. That is exactly what we want to make room for at Vingtor, a place where people from different companies and fields share a table and an everyday routine. A day like this is the same idea put into a format.

The day ended with food and mingling until 5:00 p.m. Matboden Rogaland handled the serving with ingredients from Ullandhaug andelsgård, served in bowls made of palm leaf. It is good to be able to show off good, local food that fits the theme of the day.

Thank you to everyone who came, and to everyone who contributed on stage and behind the scenes. A special thank you to our partners ByAuk, the County Governor of Rogaland, NHO, Certifer Solutions and Klimapartnere Rogaland
