On Wednesday 30 September we are hosting Bærekraftsdagen 2026 at Vingtor in central Stavanger. This year’s theme is preparedness.

Preparedness has long been something we left to others. The past few years have shown that this is not enough. Severe weather, breaks in supply chains, digital attacks and a more unsettled security situation mean the question now touches everyone, including ordinary businesses that do not think of themselves as part of national defence. What happens to our operations if the power is out for two days? Who do we call? And what does it actually mean that private business has a role in crisis and war?

The programme is put together to give some concrete answers. Bent Høie comes from the County Governor’s office and speaks about the state’s role in preparedness work. Christine Sagen Helgø and Sigurd Ur from NHO address the responsibility of private business. Trond Aarsand and Sanna Edvardsen from Certifer Solutions look at preparedness in the mobility sector, and Sven Are Ek from ByAuk speaks about food preparedness and building community. Johanna Johansson from Klimapartnere Rogaland leads the question round.

The programme runs from 13:00 to 17:00, with registration and mingling from 13:00. We close with food and plenty of time to talk.
